I really wanted to have a Memorial Day themed sketch today. But that just seemed like too much work. So here’s my entry this week.<\/em>

The Day Job<\/p>\n

(An office cubicle. Jarred sits at his desk entering data. He is having a hard time staying awake. Colleen enters and stands behind his chair, watching him work.)<\/p>\n

COLLEEN: Man, I love the way you tear into a spreadsheet.<\/p>\n

JARRED: (Not taking his eyes off the screen.) Hey, Colleen.<\/p>\n

COLLEEN: Seriously, it\u2019s like watching Michelangelo paint the Sistine Chapel or something.<\/p>\n

JARRED: M-hm.<\/p>\n

COLLEEN: If I didn\u2019t have my own work to do, I could just stand here, watching you do this all day long.<\/p>\n

JARRED: Thanks.<\/p>\n

(She pats him on the back.)<\/p>\n

COLLEEN: Well keep up the awesome, awe-inspiring work.<\/p>\n

JARRED: Will do.<\/p>\n

(Colleen exits. Barry pops his head over Jarred\u2019s cube wall.)<\/p>\n

BARRY: Man, Colleen\u2019s going a little overboard with this new positive reinforcement initiative, don\u2019t you think?<\/p>\n

JARRED: Seriously. Does she really think going around to everyone and comparing their data entry to master painters is going to make us work harder?<\/p>\n

BARRY: She compared you to a painter?<\/p>\n

JARRED: Michelangelo.<\/p>\n

BARRY: She didn\u2019t say anything like that to me.<\/p>\n

JARRED: No?<\/p>\n

BARRY: All I got was a blowjob.<\/p>\n

(Jarred stops typing.)<\/p>\n

BARRY: Well, better get back to it.<\/p>\n

(Barry disappears back to his cube. Jarred sighs and starts typing again.)<\/p>\n
