I like to use a bastardized screenplay format that&#8217;s mostly dialog, SFX (for sound effects), and MUSIC (for music cues).  Hopefully it reads okay.<\/p>\n<p><small>(Additional side note:  this idea originated <a href=\"http:\/\/hujhax.livejournal.com\/487494.html\">here<\/a>.)<\/small><\/p>\n<div class=\"fountain\">\n<p class=\"action\">FADE IN:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">MUSIC:  Introductory music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">NARRATOR<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">And now, the further adventures of everyone&#8217;s favorite globe-trotting performance artists!  It&#8217;s time for &#8220;Raoul and Dave Confuse the World!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">MUSIC:  Ominous music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">NARRATOR<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Last week, in the final moments of their Azyrian mission, Raoul and Dave were captured by the beautiful-but-deadly Lieutenant Razzen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">RAZZEN speaks precise but faintly accented English.  A femme fatale type.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAZZEN<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">So.  Raoul and Dave.  At last, I see the terrorists face-to-face.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">DAVE<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">We&#8217;re not terrorists.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAOUL<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Unless we&#8217;re terrorists of the mind!  Blowing up your complacency!  With art!<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">DAVE<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Raoul, seriously:  stop.  Lietenant, we&#8217;re not a threat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAZZEN<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">You were responsible for the balloon animals in Mogadishu, yes?<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAOUL<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Maybe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAZZEN<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">&#46;&#46;&#46; and the fake Northern Lights in Venezuela?<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAOUL<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">That was pretty cool.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">DAVE<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">But it never hurt anybody!<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAZZEN<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">It was very silly!<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAOUL<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Thanks!<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAZZEN<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Our regime does not abide silliness.  Whatever you were plotting here, the Great Leader would not approve.<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  A switchblade clicks open.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAOUL<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Ahhh that&#8217;s a knife!<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">NARRATOR<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Meanwhile, Dave employs his stage-magic skills to slip out of his ropes and deploy a smoke grenade!<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  FOOM!<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">Everyone coughs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAOUL<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Quick, untie me!<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAZZEN<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">You&#8217;ll never get away with this!<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  Alarms sound.<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  Racing footsteps echo down a hallway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">NARRATOR<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Our heroes escape from the complex, with one short side trip.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">DAVE<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Wait!<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAOUL<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">But &#45;&#45; knife lady!<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">DAVE<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">That room has our stuff.<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  A door opens.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">DAVE<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">There&#8217;s the activator!  Just hit the red button.<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  Beep!<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAOUL<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">I did it!  So&#46;&#46;&#46; we won?<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">GUARD<\/p>\n<p class=\"parenthetical\">(muffled)<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">I think they went this way!<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">DAVE<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">We gotta get out of here first.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">NARRATOR<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Meanwhile, across Azyria, the machines that Dave and Raoul carefully set in place each receives the signal and turned themselves on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  Street noise and chatter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">SON<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">So the sky isn&#8217;t really blue?<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  A loud click and a whirr.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">DAD<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Son, it&#8217;s actually something called Rayleigh scattering, and &#45;&#45;<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  POP!<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">SON<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">What&#8217;s that?<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  POP!  POP!<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">DAD<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">What&#8217;s what?<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  Millions of pops!<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  The background chatter turns into &#8216;oohs&#8217; and &#8216;aahs&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">SON<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Bubbles!  Lots of bubbles!<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">DAD<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Wow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  General laughter and merriment<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">NARRATOR<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">And so, as Azyria&#8217;s cities are filled will millions of iridescent soap bubbles, our heroes emerge from one of the compound&#8217;s escape tunnels, only to find&#46;&#46;&#46;<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  Heavy door creaks open.<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  Helicopter rotors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAOUL<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">A helicopter?<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">HELICOPTER MAN<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Get in!<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  Raoul and Dave clamber into the helicopter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  The helicopter door shuts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">SFX:  The rotors speed up as the &#8216;copter takes off.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAOUL<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Wait.  You guys aren&#8217;t from the USPAA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">HELICOPTER MAN<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Nope.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">DAVE<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Azyrians?<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">HELICOPTER MAN<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Ha, no.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">RAOUL<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Who are you?<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">An old ITALIAN MAN clears his throat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">ITALIAN MAN<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">We&#8217;re with the Pope.<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">MUSIC:  Dramatic chords!<\/p>\n<p class=\"action\">MUSIC:  Closing music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"character\">NARRATOR<\/p>\n<p class=\"dialogue\">Will our heroes escape the clutches of the Azyrian forces?  Will aiborne soap bubbles blow Azyria&#8217;s collective mind?
