A huge crowd of people are marching and yelling carrying signs that read things like “Psychiatry is a scam!” and “Psychiatrists are Evil” Across from them are another group of people, dressed in funny masks, carrying signs that read “Scientology is a scam!” and “Scientologists are Evil!” and “Longcat is Looooooong!” Elsewhere, RICHARD watches. Another man, MALCOM, walks up.

MALCOM

What’s going on here?

RICHARD

It’s a protest. And a counter-protest.

MALCOM

Oh. What are they protesting?

RICHARD

(pointing to the Scientologists)

Oh, well they think that psychiatrists are crazy and evil and cause lots of

harm to the world.

Malcom nods. Richard points to the other protestors

RICHARD

And they think Scientologists are crazy and evil and cause lots of harm to

the world.

Malcom nods again.

MALCOM

What do you think?

RICHARD

Oh, well I’m a schizophrenic. Or so I’m told. I’m told all my thoughts and

opinions are delusional. But it may be the case that it’s crazy delusional

people telling me that. Or maybe the people telling me that are crazy and

delusional.

MALCOM

Oh. Well. Good luck with all that.

RICHARD

Thanks.

MALCOM

I’ve got to get back to work.

RICHARD

Where do you work?

MALCOM

I’m sorry, I lied. I don’t really have a job.

RICHARD

I understand.
